A geisha walks along the banks of the Sumida River, an area renowned for its restaurants and entertainment establishments during the Edo period. Her stepping pose and placement within the composition capture the fleeting nature of an everyday moment, evoking both nostalgia and a vivid sense of contemporary life. In the background, the silhouette of Matsuchiyama Hill rises above the river, while the piers of Imado Bridge emerge from the water and the lights of lively riverside restaurants glow across the opposite bank.
A striking nighttime scene, and one of the few prints in the series to feature a prominently detailed figure.
