Morikane (ca. 1930)

Narita Morikane was a Japanese artist known for his contributions to the field of woodblock printing, particularly noted for his work in the 1930s. He was a prominent contributor to the series 'Twenty-four Examples of Charming Figures,' which was published by Shinbisha. This series is celebrated for its elegant portrayal of women, showcasing Morikane's skill in capturing the grace and beauty of his subjects through delicate lines and vibrant compositions. The collection reflects the aesthetics of the time, combining traditional Japanese artistic elements with a modern sensibility, helping to perpetuate the bijin-ga genre's relevance in contemporary art.
