The elegant arch of Hirakawa bridge, stretches across the moat which surrounds Tokyo’s imperial palace. While some impressions of this design favour more vibrant blue hues, this example adopts a darker palette, more in line with a natural night scene. The focus is instead drawn to the full moon, illuminating the clouds with precisely executed gradation, giving depth and character to the calm Tokyo night.
