Dark yet friendly, a couple of crows are stood on a branch, their figures standing out against the soft background. The use of light blue as the backdrop of this moonlit scene, could imply a twilight setting, with the smooth gradation at the bottom of the image and the pronounced woodgrain effect, adding an atmospheric touch.
This piece by Koson was published by Watanabe and features the Watanabe “A seal”, indicating a 1920s early edition.
